A sunset was making itself known to the world, the most glorious one seen in years; it possessed a beauty which could never be rivaled. Slowly sinking behind the mountains, it soaked the valley in its final golden rays. Some of these rays managed to find their way through the forest canopy, illuminating small swirls of dust, giving them an almost ethereal quality; soft, golden, and slowly drifting, relaxing in its own way. His eyes beheld such an incredible expanse of space above that his head almost swam. What he saw was the beginning and the end of everything, all overlapping in ways impossible for him to comprehend. Galaxies seemed somehow intertwined, as if tied loosely together by some cosmic hand, forming glorious shapes and patterns of unbelievable color, burning in silent splendor among that eternal darkness. Even through all of this one could perceive stars, far-flung pinpricks of pale light, giving off a somehow sorrowful twinkling light.
